Vascular and Spine Institute of Miami
The Vascular and Spine Institute of Miami operates as one of the first fully certified ambulatory surgical centers that offers minimally invasive procedures under the supervision of a Board Certified Interventional Radiologist. The center uses only state of the art imaging systems and laser equipment. We utilize the latest in technology to produce better outcomes for our patients as well as minimize the discomfort that is associated with traditional forms of surgery.
Our surgery center is certified by the state of Florida and is in the process of being accredited by an independent agency (AAAHC). Patients can be assured that the highest health care standards are adhered to. We are located in a very convenient location in Miami that is close to three major roadways. Most of our patients enjoy the outpatient experience of our center without the hassle, stress, and waiting typically found at hospitals. We are fully dedicated to delivering quality patient care in a warm and peaceful environment conducive to overall wellness.
OSCAR SOSA, M.D.
Medical Director
Oscar Sosa, M.D., the Medical Director of the Vascular and Spine Institute of Miami, is an Interventional Radiologist
who received his undergraduate and medical degree from
the University of Miami and the University of Miami School
of Medicine, respectively. He completed a residency in
Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas at Houston
Health Science Center including work at institutions such
as the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Hermann Hospital,
and Texas Children’s Hospital, among others. Dr. Sosa
served as Chief Resident of the Radiology Program and is
a Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist as appointed by
the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Sosa returned to the Miami area to obtain a
subspecialty fellowship degree in Vascular and
Interventional Radiology at the University of Miami
including work at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the Miami
VA Hospital, Cedars Medical Center, and the
UM/Sylvester Cancer Center. He has obtained the
highest certification possible in this subspecialty by earning
a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Vascular and
Interventional Radiology, also issued by the American
Board of Radiology.
Dr. Sosa’s areas of interest include Uterine Artery
Embolization, Vertebroplasty, multi-modality treatment
of varicose veins and treatment of back pain. He is an active member of the Society of
Interventional Radiology, the American College of
Radiology, the Florida Radiological Society, the Dade
County Medical Association, The American College of
Phlebology and is a lifetime member of the American
Medical Association. |
